Krispijn Bertoen

 Focus: Emerging Markets Finance

Krispijn Bertoen has extensive experience in corporate banking, business development and entrepreneurship. On September 6, 2010, he joined Steward Redqueen where he works as Manager Emerging Markets.

In 2004, he completed the Management Traineeship at ABN AMRO Bank and then immediately joined the Corporate Clients Unit in Amsterdam. Initially, he worked as a personal assistant to the Director of the Unit, then later that year he also took on the job of Junior Relationship manager for leisure clients (stadiums, entertainment companies, and football clubs).

In November 2005, he became an Account Manager Finance Corporate Clients for retail and agrifood clients in the west of the Netherlands. This involved a comprehensive package of tasks: from pitching financing opportunities for (potential) clients to analysing financials, performing risk analysis, drafting internal proposals and liaising with the Risk Department, to finally ‘closing the deal’.

In 2008, Krispijn switched to entrepreneurship and joined Teezir BV, a small highly innovative company specialised in bringing proprietary search technology to the market.

In November 2009, Krispijn decided to take some sabbatical time and travelled through South America. Then in 2010 he decided to redirect his career towards sustainable development and sustainable finance in emerging markets. After a few months at Deutsche Bank as Account Manager Lending, he joined Steward Redqueen. He is fluent in Dutch and English, has a working knowledge of German and basic knowledge of French.
