Willem Vosmer
Focus: Emerging Markets Finance
As Manager Emerging Markets Finance, Willem Vosmer has extensive experience in the field of sustainable development, international relations and development issues. Since 2004, Willem has been working as a consultant on different accounts in the financial sector, both commercial financial institutions and development banks (AFD PROPARCO, BCIE, DEG, FMO, IDB, IFC and KfW) as well as local financial institutions in emerging markets. He is now taking part in a nine-month exchange program at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington D.C.
Willem has been involved with various assignments for the financial sector, such as the design and implementation of Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESMSs), including developing policies, guidelines and management processes. He has also worked on providing training programs and assistance missions to FMO and DEG clients in the financial sector. Assignments included presentations, workshops, management assistance and dialogues on sustainable development.
In 2004, Willem spent six months working for the Dutch Permanent Representation to the EU. In 2003, Willem worked as an assistant to Max van den Berg, Member of the European Parliament. His work consisted of analysing political reports, preparing meetings, articles and parliamentary questions.
Willem has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Utrecht (2002). He is fluent in Dutch, English and Spanish and has a good working knowledge of French and German.
