Tragedy of the committees
The tragedy of the commons is a dilemma arising from the situation in which multiple individuals, acting independently and rationally consulting their own self-interest, will ultimately deplete a shared limited resource, even when it is clear that it is not in anyone's long-term interest for this to happen (Wikipedia). It is often referred to in relation to challenges of sustainable development, such as climate change and environmental protection.

A call for action
Do you share that sense of frustration and worry about the inability of politicians and international organisations to actually influence the global problems? Do you recognise that many of the population feel that they are excluded from any agency over the issues that most trouble them? What to do about it?

Sustainability and the uncertain economic climate
The newspapers talk about it every day: the economic crisis in Europe. The Netherlands will have a though year in 2012, according to politicians. What the newspapers mention less and less is sustainability. We wondered what the effect of the crisis is on the sustainability activities of companies in the Netherlands and sent a survey to our clients and other relations.
