Why this weblog?
Every day, the news is full of messages about sustainable entrepreneurship. Big words abound, and ambitions are sky-high. Politicians, companies, journalists and researchers – they are all scrambling to join the sustainability bandwagon. Little by little, the image that emerges is becoming that of a full-fledged hype.
We feel that, in all of this media cacophony, we should make our voice heard, too. Not to cry along with the wolves, but to qualify what others may say, wherever necessary. To voice challenging opinions, and to regularly ask the question: “Is that really so?” To do this, printed media are becoming increasingly less effective; often, they are just not fast or interactive enough.
By running this weblog, we aim to create a platform for opinion and discussion. At this blog, developments in the area of sustainable entrepreneurship will be reviewed with both feet on the ground, not just with our heads in the clouds. We will regularly post blog opinion pieces, as well as a bi-weekly column-like article. In this way, we hope to offer a combination of up-to-the-minute reactions and reflective points of view.
For years, Triple Value has maintained that the true benefits of sustainable entrepreneurship are to be reaped where the economic added value is realised. No hollow phrases or vague ambitions, no fooling around in the outskirts of a company’s operations, but true progress in the areas of innovation, competitiveness and responsible use of natural resources. You cannot do this if you are not attuned to current developments in society. To this end, companies should have and maintain a “hotline to society”. This means seeing stakeholder dialogue not as a fancy concept, but as a daily reality.
We hope that the interaction generated by a weblog will help to further flesh out this dialogue for our company as well. We look forward to your response!
