Steward Redqueen publication in Stanford Social Innovation Review

Steward Redqueen’s René Kim and Ethan Kapstein have published the article ‘Sourcing locally for impact’ in the Stanford Social Innovation Review (fall 2011). They argue that by mapping a company’s relationship to the economy in which it operates, and by leveraging the relationships it discovers in that process, business can do much to advance their strategic objectives and advance local economic growth. Socio-economic impact of SABMiller in Ghana

In June, SABMiller launched our socio-economic impact report on Ghana, which we executed together with Ethan Kapstein (associate partner Steward Redqueen). The study comprises the local brewery (Accra Brewery Ltd) and their water business (Voltic Ghana), and shows that every job at their operations relates to 20 jobs throughout the Ghanaian economy. In addition, 0.4% of Ghana’s GDP is associated with SABMiller’s local presence.
