Rianne van Raaij

Rianne is an expert in evaluations and private sector development
Rianne is a senior consultant with a focus on monitoring and evaluation (M&E). She has experience in advising development finance institutions, impact investors and development organisations. She is based in The Netherlands.
In the past years, she conducted various reviews and (impact) evaluations of organisations, funds, and facilities that aim to promote financial inclusion for smallholder farmers, agribusinesses, and MSMEs in Africa and Latin America. Thereby she gained solid knowledge on financing SME development and different financing instruments (equity, debt, guarantees, TA). Furthermore, she did various feasibility studies, including the design of a credit guarantee fund in the agriculture value chain, the set-up of a blended finance facility, and the implementation of an on-lending finance instrument targeted at exporting SMEs.
Before joining Steward Redqueen, she worked as a consultant at Carnegie Consult and at an international engineering and environmental consultancy. She also gained experience at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and did a research project in Colombia for the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment. She holds a MSc degree in International Economics and Business and a BSc in International Business from the University of Groningen with an exchange semester at Universidad del Pacífico in Peru. She is fluent in English, Dutch and Spanish.
