Steward Redqueen – Firm Overview

We are an independent consulting firm that supports our clients with advisory services and data solutions centered around sustainability and impact. With our expertise, experience, and dedication, we help clients from the private and public sector to understand and act on their impact on society.

For our work we rely on four core competencies:

  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis of complex problems;
  • Implementation of sustainability and impact in operational processes and strategies;
  • Building capacity and providing training on sustainability and economic studies/outcomes;
  • Development of software solutions to enable efficient management of sustainability and impact.

Our clients vary from multinationals such as Heineken and Coca-Cola, to financial institutions such as the African Development Bank and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and societal organizations such as the Council for Refugees.

We are headquartered in Amsterdam and have offices in Singapore and Washington, DC. This position is for the Washington, DC office.

The function

We are looking for an Intern to support our work in the Washington, DC office. This is a paid position. We envision a 10-week internship (March-May 2025), with 10-15 hours of work per week. However, we are open to considering candidates who want to work more hours per week. At the end of the internship, this individual may have the opportunity to join our team full-time.

As an intern, you will support our team in the execution of various internal and external projects. Your tasks will include writing proposals, doing in-depth desk research, and more.

Our senior staff members will provide you with guidance along the way.

The profile

As our next colleague, you:

  • Have an undergraduate degree (or be about to receive one). Although many of us studied Economics, Finance, International Relations, or Business, we also have colleagues with degrees in Political Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or Languages. We are always open to hear from people with different backgrounds;
  • Believe in Steward Redqueen’s mission, and have affinity with the firm’s focus and activities;
  • Have familiarity and interest in international and developing country contexts, cultures, economic issues, and current events;
  • Are eager to solve complex problems and have a good feel for quantitative and qualitative analysis;
  • Are not afraid of data analysis in Excel and other platforms;
  • Possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

We are looking for a candidate based in the Washington, DC area. While we have a flexible work environment, we encourage team members to split their time between home and our office in Arlington, VA to stimulate creativity and knowledge sharing.
