Donor Committee for Enterprise Development

We researched and developed a pioneering study on attribution in result measurement for impact investors

The Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED) is a forum for learning about the most effective ways to create economic opportunities for the poor through private sector development.

An important element of measuring results of impact investments is attributing results to individual investors, in order to effectively assess the effect of investors’ capital and support. As there are no standard approaches to attribution in the impact investing sphere, the DCED and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) asked Steward Redqueen to execute research and develop a report on this technical issue of attribution.

The resulting report provides insights into the rationale for attribution, hurdles to applying attribution in practice and practical suggestions to move forward and develop practical approaches to attribution. Please click here to access the full report.
