Egyptian Banking Institute
We introduced a group of Egyptian banking executives to sustainability principles
The Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI), the official training arm of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), is focused on developing the skills of local financial service professionals.
EBI asked Steward Redqueen to develop a two-part training program to introduce banking executives from Egypt to sustainability topics, consisting of a two-day workshop in Cairo, followed by a five-day study tour in the Netherlands.
For the training in Cairo, Steward Redqueen developed a specialised training program adapted to the local context and challenges. Further, the bankers were taken on a study tour, visiting major (sustainable) financial institutions in the Netherlands (i.e. ABN AMRO, NVB, FMO, Rabobank, PGGM, Triodos), to learn from their experiences. Throughout both workshops, the executives were introduced to a wide range of sustainable banking concepts that they could apply in their own respective organisations.
The training provided the participants with valuable insights into both the theory and practical implications of sustainable finance. Furthermore, relationships were formed between several medium to large banks in Egypt and the Dutch banking industry, thus fostering international knowledge sharing.
